Timeless Cabaret Show - Review by Gloria Miller

Time travel has never been more fabulous than when the ladies of Timeless took us on a musical journey through the decades at the debut of their cabaret show at The Stage Door 19 March.

The stage was minimally dressed with three mics an old school radio and a coat rack. Honestly, once these three ladies hit the stage and their voices and personalities filled the room, nothing else was needed.

A lovely atmosphere had already been set with Spotlight Vocal Duo performing in the bar area, and minutes before show time the capacity crowd was all abuzz as we waited for Timeless to hit the stage. We should have been warned to buckle our seat belts before the show started because once it did, it was a fast-paced, non-stop journey as they kicked of the show 40's style with lush harmonies and sharp dance moves in true 'Andrew Sisters' fashion.

The journey continued through 50's Rock n Roll and petticoats, and then smoothly transitioned to the glitz and glamour of 60's Motown which brought the first half of the show to close with the audience in the palm of these talented ladies' hands as they worked us all into a frenzy with their Soulful vocals on classic Supremes and Aretha Franklin tunes.

I didn't think these girls could top the 60's Motown segment, yet I enjoyed continuing our musical adventure into 70's Disco and 80's kitsch. But the real gem in the second half was when we landed in the 90's! Admittedly, not much good music came out of the 90's in my opinion, and if I were putting this show together, I would have simply skipped this decade. But not Timeless ... Armed only with their amazing voices, these ladies came to the edge of the stage, sat on the floor and gave a pitch perfect acapella performance of Seal's Kiss From A Rose. The moment was so beautiful that I got lost in it ... didn't want to leave it.

These girls were such fun to watch and listen to, and they each have big voices and personalities that served the show well. We laughed, we sang and we danced our way through time in glorious fashion, and then got to re-live all 60 years again when Timeless recapped the decades in true 'Glee' mashup fashion. They sang every style of the past six decades to Uptown Funk, which was frickin' awesome, and then we found ourselves safe and sound back in modern times and collectively on our feet as the last notes from Timeless filled the air.

These ladies are now on the road with this amazing Cabaret show, and if you're very lucky, you'll be able to take your own journey through the decades with Timeless.
